About

Local guidance for real trail days.

Squamish Guided Trails is here so you can spend less energy on logistics and more time looking up, whether you are visiting for the first time or just want a calmer day outside with friends. I am based in Squamish; the trails we discuss are the ones I spend most of my time on, year-round.

Patrick, guide at Squamish Guided Trails, outdoors in natural light
Hello

I'm Patrick.

I started Squamish Guided Trails because I like helping people feel at ease outdoors, especially when Squamish is new to them, or when hiking still feels a little uncertain. My focus is simple: match the day to your pace and interests, talk through what to expect, and keep the plan honest when the weather or the group asks for a change.

That usually means clear communication before we meet, a steady rhythm on trail, and room for questions without making anyone feel rushed or judged. The reward is the same for me as it is for you: a good day in the trees and the views, with fewer loose ends.

I am not trying to be everywhere at once. I keep the work small so the trail days stay personal. When you ask how wet a spring crossing might feel or what a winter shoulder is like, the answer comes from recent footsteps, not a generic trail report.

I'm not here to sell extreme adventure. I'm here to help you enjoy Squamish hiking with more confidence and less guesswork. If that sounds like what you are looking for, send a note with your dates and a sentence about your group; we'll take it from there.

How we work together

Approachable, start to finish.

This is not technical mountaineering. It is guided hiking for everyday people who want beautiful Squamish trails with support on navigation, pacing, and what to bring. If something does not fit the conditions or the group, we adjust early and keep the day kind to your energy level.

Comfort first

Routes are chosen for how your group actually feels that day, not for a highlight reel or a fixed idea of what a hike “should” look like.

Clear planning

Meet-up details, timing, and what to bring are part of the conversation so you are not guessing the night before.

Local familiarity

Squamish changes with the season: footing, weather windows, and realistic timing matter as much as the view at the end. Hiking here year-round means I have a felt sense of mud, ice, and dry summer dust, not only summer photos.

Next step

Say hello when you are ready.

Share timing, group size, and anything that affects comfort on trail. The first reply should outline realistic options.
